Routeware is pleased to announce that Stirling Council has selected SmartCity as their new waste management technology solution.

The new solution will see Routeware install its latest in-cab technology into the council’s 27 refuse collection vehicles, alongside a cloud-based portal for operations, route and operations management.

SmartCity will provide the authority with a modern, joined-up, easy-to-use solution that will let the waste and environmental service team continue to provide cost efficient, effective services to their 93,000 residents.

This all-in-one solution enables local authorities to improve service resiliency and flexibility by providing drivers and depot teams with productivity tools and real-time data.

Convener of the Environment, Transport and Net Zero committee at Stirling Council, Cllr Jen Preston, said: “This system will help us plan smarter, work safer, and will make life easier for residents. It improves route efficiency, supports accurate budgeting, and even lets people book special uplifts or check their bin days through an app. It’s a big step toward a more reliable and efficient waste and recycling service.”

Thomas Moffat, UK Sales Director for Routeware said: “We are thrilled to continue our longstanding relationship with Stirling. We look forward to helping their team continue to deliver high quality refuse and recycling services across their communities.”

Stirling Council is one of over 130 UK local authorities that work with Routeware, including 14 of the 32 councils in Scotland.
